DJ Aphlatoon (real name Azhar) is known as the first Pakistani remix producer. He was the first DJ to release two albums containing only Pakistani songs remixed with hip hop, reggae and techno beats.
   In the Arabic language, the philosopher Plato is known as Aphlatoon.
   Born in Peshawar, Pakistan, DJ Aphlatoon moved to New York when he was 15 where he started remixing in 1996.

Discography

  • Mixistan, released in 1999 online and through mp3.com label.
  • Shauq, released in 2003 from Pakhits records.
  • Amychophobic, 2004 release consisting of global music (Persian, Arabic, Dutch, English, Urdu, Hindi).
